Garrett Byrum

Harnessing the magic of movement isn’t easy, but that’s Garrett’s specialty. Whether it’s the flow of water or the human body at work, his background in surf photography and scientific approach to light help him capture it honestly and authentically. 

An education at Brooks Institute of Photography helped with that, too. Now, he draws inspiration from movies, art, music, and his fellow photographers to shape a style that’s clean and fluid. 

And when he’s not catching people on the move, it’s probably because he’s the one moving, whether it’s on a bike, golf course, or through a complicated game of chess. Oh, and he might be doing any of the above with either one of his talented hands — he’s what we like to call in-the-moment-ambidextrous.
